Meta Standard Template Library
The Standard Template Library in SMSPort provides direct access to Meta's official catalog of pre-approved Utility and Authentication message templates. Adopting templates from the library allows businesses to launch notifications instantly without waiting through lengthy Meta reviews or risking policy rejections.
Why Use the Template Library?
- Instant Approval / Rapid Onboarding: Library templates are pre-vetted by Meta for policy compliance.
- 100+ Official Templates: Covering essential business topics across E-Commerce, Healthcare, Banking, Logistics, and Education.
- Zero Policy Guesswork: Formats strictly align with Meta's Utility and Authentication message guidelines.
- Customisable: Adopt as-is with one click, or customize text, headers, and buttons in the studio.

Adopting a Template (Step-by-Step)
When you click on any template card in the library, the Template Adoption Modal opens. This modal is modeled directly after Meta's official WhatsApp Manager interface for a seamless operator experience.
Step 1: Name Your Template
- Field:
Name your template - Format: Lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores only (e.g.
order_confirmation_v1). - Limit: Maximum 512 characters with live character counter (
0/512).
Step 2: Configure Buttons (Static vs. Dynamic URLs)
If the library template includes a website link button, you can configure whether the link is fixed for all customers or personalized per recipient:
A. Static URL
- Use Case: A fixed destination shared by all recipients (e.g.,
https://mywebsite.com/termsorhttps://mywebsite.com/support). - Behavior:
- Select
Staticin the URL type dropdown. - Enter your destination in the Website URL input.
- Variables like
{{1}}are not permitted in static URLs. - The Add sample URL field is automatically hidden because no variable review is required.
- Select
B. Dynamic URL
- Use Case: A personalized link where each customer receives their own invoice, order page, or tracking code (e.g.,
https://mywebsite.com/orders/{{1}}). - Behavior:
- Select
Dynamicin the URL type dropdown. - Enter your base website path in the Website URL input (e.g.
https://mywebsite.com/orders/). - Meta automatically appends the dynamic variable suffix
{{1}} ⓘto the end of the URL. - Add sample URL (Mandatory): Enter a real, working example URL (e.g.
https://mywebsite.com/orders/ORD-98421). Meta's review team uses this sample to verify that your link is safe, valid, and functional.
- Select
Parameters vs. Example Preview
At the top right of the modal, a segmented toggle allows you to preview the template in two distinct modes:
1. Parameters Mode
- Displays dynamic variable placeholders with their technical tags (e.g.
{{1}},{{2}}or{{text}},{{date}},{{amount}}). - Variables are highlighted in emerald green to make dynamic fields immediately obvious.
- Helper caption: "Text in brackets {{ }} is dynamic. It will update with your content when your message has been sent."
2. Example Mode
- Automatically substitutes real, realistic Meta sample values (e.g. Customer Name
Rahul, Order NumberORD-98421, Item2 items). - Replaces variables in both the message body and header text.
- Provides a 1-to-1 visual of what your customer will see on their mobile screen.
